Frequently asked questions
How long does plaster take to dry before painting?
A skim coat usually needs around a week in a warm, well ventilated room. Thicker backing coats can take several weeks. When it has dried to an even light pink with no dark patches, apply a diluted mist coat first so the paint bonds properly.
Should I skim or re-plaster my walls?
If the existing plaster is sound and well bonded, a skim gives a fresh, smooth surface. If it is hollow, crumbling or badly damaged, it needs removing and the wall re-plastering. We will check your walls and tell you honestly which is needed.
Do you cover my area?
We are based in Denmead and cover the whole of Hampshire, including Portsmouth, Southampton, Winchester, Fareham, Basingstoke, Andover and everywhere in between. Get in touch with your postcode and we will confirm.
Do you do render repairs?
Yes. We repair cracked and blown render, and we also re-render complete elevations in sand and cement, through-colour and silicone thin coat systems.

Yes. Quotes are free and there is no obligation. We usually visit to look at the job so the quote reflects what your property actually needs.
